Why do celebrities get so much adulation and wealth for JUST doing a job?

Ok no one is disputing that talent is a blessing and not everyone has it, BUT why do celebs/actors/singers--get so much adulation and wealth, having your hands or feet imprinted on the walk of fame is seen as a step up in lordship (WHY) are their feet made of gold and have vintage wine running through them instead of blood, but what do they actually do to deserve it, acting is acting so what---singing is singing so what, struggling to make ends meet while bringing up 6 children while on a minimum wage, is seen as WHAT, lazy and stupid, sitting in an office 10 hours a day making money for huge corporations is what (not working) celebs are not working harder than anybody else, so why are they treated like royalty just because they have a known face, i don't get it. call me jealous angry WHATEVER, but then you need to go back to my first sentence and read again.
