Birth control???????

I'm 15 and I've had my period since I was 11, so 4 years, but it's still completely uncontroled. I never know when I'll get it, I skip periods for some months, the flow changes, sometimes my cramps are so bad I have to stay home, and so on. It really bothers me and I've heard the birth control can fix this, but I don't know how to get it. For one, I don't want my parents to know because I do have a serious boyfriend and they will think I'm going to have although I won't. And I don't want to have to ask them and explain because that would be sooooooo awkward. Also, if I do convince them or find a place where they won't find out, do I have to get a pap smear since I'm under 18?? I have this huge issue with self conciousness and personal space, plus I'm ticklish EVERYWHERE so I can't really do that... so how can I possibly get it? Or do I have to wait until I'm 18 where I heard that you can get it without parental consent and a pap smear?
