I have a small peekapoo puppy with a dislocated knee- Is there any remedies other than surgery????? HELP!?

I took her to the vet and they told me to keep the puppy quiet and keep her calm for two weeks- by that time she should be as good as new. We brought her home and set up a small pen in the living room- but her little knee keeps popping out of place several times a day. Shes out long enough to go to the bathroom and thats it. So she hops around 3legged for a bit- then she'll act fine for a few min then she goes back to three legs. She was put on an anti-inflamatory/pain medication. However the vet said that surgery was a last resort because their bones are so fragile. I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions what I could do to stabilize it for a few weeks to see if it will heal on its own. Has anyone ever heard of a puppy cast for something like this?
